Stampin' Up! Remembrance Day Poppy

Remembrance Day on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month is a time to remember all those brave souls who lost their lives during the 1st World War.  This year it is 100 years since the start of the 1st World War 1914.

Today with our carefree lives it is almost incomprehensible to imagine what not only the brave soldiers but their wives, children and families had to go through.

I wear my poppy with pride to remember and have been moved by the ceramic poppies which have been laid round the tower of london.  There are 800,000 to represent the number of lives lost.  This number is difficult to imagine but the sight of the sea of poppies in the moat surrounding the tower gives an idea.

I decided to make a poppy using various stampin' up punches whilst making  a donation.

So wear your poppy with pride and take a moment on the 11th to think about all those who lost their lives.
