Stampin Up Best Birds with Blends & Inks

Hello and welcome to Amethystarcrafting. My name is Jane Allmark and I'm a UK Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator.

BEST BIRDS.

How to create this Best Birds background card

  • STAMPIN BLENDS. are alcohol markers which are lovely for colouring images like the Best Birds.
  • To get the wide variety of colours for the birds Stampin Blends being alcohol markers do not mix with water colour inks, so if you lay down the colour with the blends and then use our ink pads which are water based you can get some lovely tones without any muddy colours.
  • I used Wisteria Wonder over our Pink Blends to achieve the two right facing birds.
  • After each bird was coloured I sponged with our daubers the whole background in tonal colours to give a muted tone to the whole piece.
  • Divide in three using our trimmer and mount and you have a lovely image that matches up perfectly.
  • A simple sentiment finished the card.

New Stampin Blends Alcohol Markers

Hello and welcome to Amethystarcrafting.  My name is Jane Allmark and I'm a UK Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator.

New Stampin Blends Alcohol Markers

The New Stampin Up Blends were launched on the 1st November and are already taking the colouring market by storm. Stampin Blends. are a premium alcohol marker and I thoughtI would show you some great projects with these fabulous marker.

Colouring with Stampin Blends

These Stampin Blends are very juicy and come in a light and a dark in each colour making for seamless blending.
The robin has been coloured using Crumb Cake light and dark markers. and the Stampin Blends Bronze marker. for the shadows.

The Stampin Blends can be bought singly, in pairs of the light and dark, or the complete set, so is great for all budgets.

The Stamp Set I used for this card was the Best Birds. which you can purchase with a coordinating framelits set for ease of cutting the images.

The Stampin Blends give a really vibrant colour making each image you colour look very professional.

Another way to use the Stampin Blends is to colour a die cut image from Whisper White Cardstock in any colour coordinating blend.

For this card I used the Happy Birthday Framelits cut in Whisper White and then used the  Bermuda Bay, Pool Party to colour the Happy Birthday and then put a shadow round the edge with the darker Bermuda Bay.

By using the Stampin Blends in this way you can coordinate every project and create some lovely ombre effects.  Again you can see just how vibrant the Stampin Blends are and give a beautiful smooth finish.

Two colour blending stamping and inking

Sometimes with all this wet drizzly weather, thoughts turn to warm sunny days and today's card is done with two lovely warm tones, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze.
I used a blending technique with the Best Birds by using the Aqua Painter to blend the stamped image to give tone.
The background was done using our Sponge Brayer and the masked area with So Saffron.

By using coordinating cardstock in Cajun craze and crushed curry it pulls everything together with a few pearls for interest.
