Copper wire fairy

This beautiful piece of art was made by a very talented friend of mine who is making a series of these stunning commission pieces to order. Each figure is hand made in copper and designed to fit on the toadstools to make an extraordinary and beautiful garden ornament. This piece stands at nearly 4' tall and being copper will last for ever ageing in colour tone.

Please get in touch if you would like one of these pieces of art and I will be happy to forward your details to this artist.

Family wall plaques

This is a family tree heart wall plaque made for my son and daughter in law. So pleased at how it turned out and the feedback has been amazing so I will be adding it to my bespoke items to order. If you would like one for your family then just get in touch

Badger in the snow Christmas card

This is another set of orders for someone who has a passion for badgers and saving them from the horrid cull that has been going on recently in some ridiculous notion that it would prevent the spread of tuberculosis to cattle which has been proved to be incorrect but still the cull went ahead in some area.

Thankfully a lot of badgers were spared and I hope that they will live in peace raising their families and being part of our wonderful countryside.
Happy Yule festive season to everyone and I hope that you all will be able to spend time with family and loved ones

Christmas card orders

Well after a busy couple of months making Christmas cards I have just finished the last of my orders. This is a couple of pretty wreaths with a snowy sunrise & a few baubles thrown in for good measure. Hope you like them

Hope you all have a happy festive season and get to spend time with friends and family.

Resist emboss rustic Christmas card

I really love rustic tones of burnt oranges and yellows and so decided to make a Christmas using this colours over a resist emboss wreath. The results are gorgeous and is far more my style as I try and stay clear of the traditional red and green seen on so many cards.

Only 25 days till Christmas and like so many of us am posting the majority of my cards this week.

Earthy green tones with gilding wax

Lots of gold embossing to build the colour palate and then little butterflies punched and embossed & then gilded with pebeo gilding wax. This gilding wax is the best I have used as it is very soft so glides onto the embossed areas easily and the effect is lovely.

The gold embossing doesn't show the vibrancy in the photo but it is really lovely.

Embossed & gilded flowers

Have been playing with different textures and colour tones using a sheena Douglass embossing folder cut out multiple times using thin copier paper. Inked in some muted tongues and then gilded using pebeo gilding wax. Mounting this on black card with a die cut in the centre and then building up with glitters. Really love this finished card.

Using pebeo gilding wax

Pebeo gilding wax is a soft smooth gilding wax which gives a luxurious sheen to any card but is especially good on an embossed card. This is a get well card for my beloved 93 year old uncle who has just undergone major surgery. Thankfully he has come through it well but still a worrying time ahead. There is nothing like putting your love & time into a special card & old pocket watches in this embossing folder seemed a perfect card.
The gilding wax doesn't show up on the photo but it looks beautiful & soft with a glorious sheen.

Birthday card

It was my youngest son's 32 birthday yesterday. It astounds me how time flies. It seems like only yesterday when he was a little boy playing with his toys in his Thomas the tank engine pyjamas and now he is a husband and a father. The circle of life continues and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

So I made him a birthday card with lots of stars and some great sentiments
And yes I love him and he is the best. So proud of all my family xx

Reflection technique Christmas reindeer

I certainly can't take credit for this idea but have played around with it and made my own take. I love Christmas time but and not so keen on the standard red and green and like to use more unusual combinations.  This year in all the shops there are a lot of blue tone cards and blues and teals are a firm favourite of mine. These couple of cards are sponged in tones of blues and teals with some Sakura white 3D gel pens to add dimension to the water. Really like the way this has turned out.

It is a very wet and blustery day so ideal to spend time in my craft room and play around with more Christmas cards. Keep dropping by for more ideas 💜

How to make bobby dazzler embellishments

This is a little tip that I saw recently on a crafting channel and thought was such a great idea that I would have a go and try it.

Glue gun big dollops of hot glue on a silicone or glass sheet and immediately sprinkle with glitter of choice. Wait a few minutes to dry completely and then peel off and use.

This was my first attempt so they are a bit misshapen but have done some more and they are great. Can coordinate the glitter to match whatever project and cost a fraction of the cost of buying them. Can make approx 50 large ones from a single glue stick

Stampin' Up! sprinkles of life with Happy patterns decorative borders

Well it is a horrible wet day. It started raining first thing this morning and it hasn't stopped all day. Yes the garden desperately needs the water but as I love being outdoor in the sunshine it has been a day to do some crafting.  I recently got a couple of new products from Stampin Up so these are some cards I made.
There is a lovely co-ordinating punch which makes the job easier and the stencils make for a love,y background to match the colours of the main image.

As always all of my cards are for sale so just drop me a message if there is something you would like. Have a happy day and thanks for dropping by.

This fab thinlets die from Stampin up is gorgeous and there are so many ways to use this die.

Father's Day card

I have been asked to make a Father's Day card that was simple and modern with a bit of sparkle. This customer did not want old fashioned with boats, golf, etc and I thought about it and she was quite right that there are so many cards for guys which are quite frankly dated.  So this is the card I made. She was absolutely delighted. If you would like one made then just give me a shout as there is still a couple of weeks to go.

Everybody loves butterflies

Out of all the cards I make. Butterflies are by far the most popular. I think it is probably the delicacy no gorgeous colours that attract people to them. I always remember the old film with Steve McQueen Papillon and how the film was about freedom and never giving up however hard the journey may be.

I have been making some more commissions for customers and was requested to make a butterfly card for someone who wanted shimmer and sparkle, so this is what I came up with
With a row of rhinestone added for that finishing bit of sparkle.

If you would like a special card made then please just get in touch.
