Stampin' Up! Tiny heart box

Well the wind id coming in again and we are about to get hurricane brigid over our poor soggy battered country.  The already flooded parts of England will be battered yet again and I feel so sorry for everyone who are already under feet of water.  Luckily where I am is on a hill so although my garden is a soggy mess and I have lost parts of the felted roof from my summerhouse and shed I have not been driven from my home due to the flooding like so many people.

On these horrible days it is lovely to be able to sit in the warm crafting listening to the forces of nature outside knowing I am safe.

Today's project is a little heart box using the full heart punch.  With valentine's day approaching I am making little boxes for friends with a little heart shaped chocolate inside.

The boxes are a little fiddly to do as they are so small, but make  great gift box for putting a little treat inside or even a piece of jewellery or ring.  The sides are made with a piece of dsp one & half inches scored at half an inch and snipped to give a long series of tabs to attach to the heart punch.  The inside is lined with another heart to cover up the tabs.

Stampin' Up! Explosion Box

I wanted to have a go making an explosion box and using up lots of bits and pieces that I had left over, so the lid is a mismash of a flower using the retired  build a blossom punch with a crepe paper flower in the middle using the blossom punch and daubing with calypso coral.

I decided to put a post-it note in the centre of the box and then made two layers with a couple of pockets for little messages.

A fun project that makes a good gift for someone.

Imade this one using 9" x 9" scored and 3" as this made a good sized box.  You can obviously make larger or smaller just dividing in 3 to get your score lines correct.

Stampin' Up! Valentine

Another card for valentine day.  This time I wanted to create a vintage style card so built up layers beginning with the vintage wheel in sahara sand.  I then used a mask from the hearts a flutter stamp set and using my sponge daubers inked in several tones.  Added a little dazzling diamonds and the result is quite beautiful.

Oh I also used the leaf from the fabulous florets in soft sky.  Realised the camera has not given the depth of colour for the background but trust me it is a lovely technique.

Today I've been thinking about valentine's day which is just around the corner so this is a pretty card with a bit of a twist.  I have used aluminium foil and put it through the big shot with an embossing folder and the result is gorgeous.

Stampin' Up! Lovely As A Tree foggy frosty morning.

Well with all this wet weather and drop in temperature there have been some lovely foggy frosty mornings.  I am very lucky to live next to an ancient deer park full of beautiful trees which are so lovely on a frosty morning.  This gave me inspration for this card.

I stamped the image in early espresso and then used white with a sponge to give a foggy effect.  This picked up some of the ink from the early espresso to give the look.  I freehand drew the fence posts and then used some white to outline one side to give the frosty look and added a little dazzling diamonds for the sparkle.  Mounted on some black cardstock.

Stampin' Up! Decorated Mirror

I managed to pick up a bargain in the January sales which was a heart shaped mirror.  The frame however was very battered and in a ghastly black so I thought I would re-vamp it.  The process was all about building up layers.  I started with some stampin' up! designer series paper which I tore in small pieces and adhered to the mirror  with lots of pva glue.  This had to be done in several stages allowing 24 hours for the glue to dry properly and leave the paper smoothly adhered to the mirror with no gaps.  I then used some gold to brush over the frame to give an antique feel.  I am very lucky that I have lots of antique buttons which were part of my late mum's sewing collection, which I attached to the mirror to give an eclectic mix of colour.  The inside of the frame I covered with some handmade lace again from my late mother's collection.  The result is a completely revamped mirror which now takes pride of place in my hallway.

Crafting is all about diversity and I love being creative in making other things as well as cards and paper products.

Happy crafting everyone andhave a great day :)

Stampin' Up! Gatefold Card

Well the weather at last has calmed and the floods have started to subside although I do feel so sorry for the people that have had to leave their homes and the awful clear-up of all that awful destruction that bursting rivers brings.

So to cheer everyone up this is a gatefold card, again with flowers from the fabulous florets stamp set with a Spring feel.

The lovely dsp is from the Sale-a-bration brochure and is a freebie for a spend of £45 from another of the current stampin' up! catalogues.

Crisp cantalopue is a real favourite of mine as it is such a lovely warm spring colour and combined with pastachio pudding and pool party it picks up the colours from the dsp perfectly.

The yellow (so saffron) banners are again a free stamp set for Sale-a-bration.

Sale-a-bration starts 28th January till end of March 2014 so a really good time to stock up on products and take advantage of getting some freebies.

For details just get in touch or if you want to order online follow the link

Happy crafting and have a good weekend :)
