Stampin Up Colourful Seasons. How to create a fun background using torn paper

How to create a fun background using torn paper and Colourful Seasons stamp set.

When you begin as a stamper there is so much to learn and so many products to buy.  However as we all know that unless we win the lottery or suddenly become millionaires we have to pace ourselves and build up our supplies gradually.  So creating fun and different backgrounds is a way of coordinating our supplies and creating lots of different effects without spending on new supplies.

The torn paper technique is suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced crafters and the possibilities are endless with different colour themes.

I have given you a video so you can see step by step how to achieve this background.

Please do subscribe to my YouTube video channel and this blog as I post regular videos and craft ideas and cards for you to gain inspiration from.

All products are available to buy through my shop button above.

Stampin Up Floral Statements.

Stampin Up Floral Statements

Floral Statements is a lovely stamp set and like all Stampin Up products there are so may possibilities.

These card I made to look like some of the old water colour prints and line drawings of the pretty Victorian illustrators.  The background was achieved simply by inking up one of our acrylic blocks with Wild Wasabi green ink and stamping on a piece of cardstock.  The Floral Statements image was then stamped over the top in archival black ink and then coloured in using a combination of water colour pencils and stampin write markers.

How to create a monotone wedding card with added texture using Stampin Up products.

How to create a monotone wedding card with embossing folders and dies.

June is traditionally the month for weddings and so there are always lots of wedding cards to make.  With weddings traditionally being white and not always knowing the colour theme for a wedding, cards can be quite difficult to make. With this in mind I decided to create a white card but adding texture and depth by using embossing folders and dies.

This card has no stamping on it and is made by using the Fluttering Embossing Folder on the debossed side with the congrats from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlets Dies and the butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlets decorated with a row of pearls.

Video Tutorial Stampin Up Magical Mermaid

Video Tutorial Stampin Up Magical Mermaid

The Magical Mermaid stamp set from Stampin Up is a lovely set to create some great cards with.  They are ideal for the youngsters, teenagers and every person who loves the magical quality of this mythical sea creature.

I have created a video to show you how I created the triple mermaid in this card using a masking technique to prevent the images covering each other and giving the illusion of each mermaid being behind the other.

*apologies for my head appearing in this video I hope it doesn't detract from your enjoyment

Stampin Up Floral Statements

Stampin Up Floral Statements

Following on from my video where I showed you how to colour the lovely rose image with a vibrant red I thought I would show you the two cards in the video and how I finished them.

This image I had only just coloured one of the roses so I decided to make the rest monochrome using smoky slate and the aqaupainter and just coloured the complete area apart from the one rose. I then just added a small ring to pop out the rose by cutting two concentric circles in black cardstock. A simple yet effective card and very easy to achieve.

This image I just added the sentiment from the Hello Sunshine thinlets dies in sweet sugarplum and then stamped around the edges in the floral leaves from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

These other two images were on the video so as you can see there are so many different combinations to create a beautiful card with the stamp set and I am sure it will become a very popular set in the new Annual Catalogue.

If you missed the video, here it is again and do look at subscribing to my blog and YouTube channel as I post regularly with all the latest products from Stampin Up.

Magical Mermaid Take Three

How much do I love mermaids!

I stamped the image three times using a mask so they image didn't overlap and then coloured using the Aquapainter and our lovely ink pads.

Stampin Up Triple Layered Background using Ribbon of Courage hearts

Triple Layered Background using Ribbon of Courage Video Tutorial

This video tutorial shows you how to create a background using the hearts from the Ribbon of Courage is three different colours, Fresh Fig, Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party.  The cardstock is then cut at 1.5" and then mounted on Fresh Fig at 1.75" to form a matt. I have shown a variety of embellishments using our thinlits dies or if you don't have a Big Shot then how to keep it simple.

Stampin Up products used to create a triple layered background using Ribbon of Courage

This trimmer is, in my opinion, one of the best on the market and is one of my best sellers.  It is light weight and very easy to use with a simple slide mechanism so is great for people who struggle with strength issues in their hands.  The blades are easily replaced and there is  scoring blade included.  At only £27 it is very affordable and has an extending arm to take 12" x 12" cardstock.  This item is always very popular and sells out quickly as soon as stocks are in proving that it is one of the best on the market.

The Thinlets dies which I used for the embellishments in this video are

Stampin Up Magical Mermaid

Stampin Up Magical Mermaid

Who doesn't like a mermaid? There is something just wonderful about mermaids and the sea and all the lovely myths and fairy tales that surround mermaids.  I was super excited when Stampin Up launched this Magical Mermaid stamp set.  It has a background sand stamp with little shells, crabs and starfish in and the fronds of sea foliage really give the mermaid a watery underwater feel.

So if you are as entranced with this Magical Mermaids stamp set then just click on the link above or visit my shop to order yours.

Stampin Up Ribbon of Courage

Stampin Up Ribbon of Courage for all those suffering or know someone with Cancer.

In this day and age there is probably no one who hasn't been affected by someone with Cancer. I have two colleagues at work and one of my seniors who have all been through breast cancer and are now all thankfully in remission.

It is one of the most difficult things to understand how someone is feeling and what support is appropriate.  Sometimes sending a card saying you are thinking of them and you are there for them is a way of lifting their spirits and warming a heart.

I was delighted when Patty Bennett a million sales demonstrator created this stamp set having lost loved ones through cancer.  It is a privilege and honour to have bought and own this set and I plan to make and give some of these cards made with this stamp set to my local hospice and cancer support groups.  It is my very small way of giving something back and sharing cards with others.

The first picture is white embossed on flirty flamingo cardstock and the sentiment is stamped in flirty flamingo ink.

The second picture is coloured using our Stampin Write Markers and mounted on a Stitched Framelits oval and mounted in Flirty Flamingo.

If you would like to buy this bundle then please go to the shop button above or click one of the highlighted product links below. This Ribbon of Courage set is going to be very special to me as I hope it will be to you to.

Happy crafting and see you all soon.

Stampin Up Colourful Seasons Life Is A Beautiful Thing

Creating Simple One Layer Cards

Sometimes we seem to forget that not everybody has a die cutting machine such as a Big Shot and the idea of die cutting is not everybody's taste.  As a crafter I love to do all types of cards and yes I love my Big Shot but sometimes a simpler approach can give a beautiful result.

Colourful Seasons

Colourful Seasons is a photopolymer stamp set of 24 different images
It is a very versatile set as it can be used at any time of the year including Christmas with the lovely snowflake images and has this lovely deckchair and cold drink with straw which I have used on the card above.

The colour I chose for this card is Lemon/Lime Twist a vibrant green colour ideal for a summery scene.

So if you are a beginner stamper or just starting out why not consider the Colourful Seasons stamp set. All products are available through my shop button above or by clicking any of the highlighted links.

Stampin Up Colourful Seasons VideoTutorial

Stampin Up Colourful Seasons Video Tutorial

The New Annual Catalogue has arrived and it is jam packed full of lots of new exciting products one of which is the Colourful Seasons Bundle 24photopolymer stamps with coordinating 17 dies. This bundle covers all seasons with some lovely sentiments.

Colourful Seasons Video Tutorial

In this video tutorial I have shown how you can layer some framelits, I  used Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Circle Framelits Dies to create the layers and then stamped the small circle flower from the Colourful Seasons stamp set in Fresh Fig ink and Sweet Sugarplum ink. These two inks are a perfect blend.

To be able to use all of our lovely dies which coordinate so well with all of our lovely stamp sets you will need a Big Shot by Stampin Up This is a considered purchase at £99 but is a complete workhorse and I have had mine for nearly 5 years, have used it daily myself and for classes and it is still going strong. I cannot recommend it highly enough and if you club together with a few friends and put in an order of £525 you can get it for half price making a real bargain.
