It was my eldest son's birthday this week and I can't believe he is now 33, where does time go!  Off to a fun filled fancy dress party for him today the theme being gangsters and molls.  Really looking forward to it.

Stampin' Up! Marker for Easy Backgrounds

Third day of simple backgrounds and another colour combination

This one is crushed curry, pear pizzazz and pistachio pudding.  When you spritz the car with water to get that blended watery look the paper will curl, so just leave it to dry underneath something heavy to flatten out and dry before stamping.

Stampin' Up! Easy Watercolour Backgrounds

I have recently purchased some more stampin' up! marker pens.  They are great dual tipped pens one fat ideal for paintbrushing and one fine for all those little details.  I bought the new colours collection on the current 'weekly deals' offer (take a look at my link to stampin' up! online store for more details on current 'weekly deals' which continues throughout the month of May).

So this is a watercolour background really easily achieved by using 3 co-ordinating colours and spraying with water so they blend together.

This one I used 4 colours, strawberry slush, calypso coral, crisp cantaloupe and blushing bride.  Makes a really quick and easy background.

Stampin' Up! Life in the Forest

Hares are probably my favourite animal and the Life in the Forest stamp set has a lovely rabbit/hare which is lovely.  This card is a bit of a vintage retro look with the paper torn and distressed and the hare stamp then put on top and then coloured using the stampin' up! markers.  Really pleased with the results.

Stampin' Up! Card Idea

Stampin' Up! has a clearance rack where you can buy stock up to 80% off.  This cardstock is currently available at £2.49 (WOW) so combined with early espresso and using the papillon potpouri stamp set and butterfly punches and the petite petals bundle I created a lovely card.  I watercoloured the butterfly and flowers with crisp cantaloupe which has given a gorgeous soft tone which blends with the cardstock perfectly.

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop and Petite Petals bundles

Lving the bundles as 15% off each set is such a great deal and to have the matching punches to the stamp sets makes life so much easier.

Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry and Calypso Coral are the colours I used and I just love the way this card has turned out.  Really fresh and summery (roll on the warmer weather)

Stampin' Up! FlowerShopBundle Life in the Forest Fusion

The fun thing with crafting is that there are no rules and limits to the creativity of card making.  So today I have been playing around with a few ideas using the mouse from Life in the Forest, the pansy bunch from the Flower shop bundle and some stampin' up! marvelous markers.  My first idea was to make a uniform mosaic but then decided that a random pattern worked better for the slightly grunge modern look.

The colour combinations make this card and the little mouse peaking through randomly I think really works. So I have called this a fusion card as it really is a bit of a lot of things put together.
