Stampin Up Let It Ride Galloping Horse using the Stamparatus.

I am always very humbled when a card technique is so well received and the LET IT RIDE galloping horse using the STAMPARATUS and the hinge step technique which I posted on my YouTube channel has done just that.

In just a few hours it has already had over 500 views on YouTube  and where I have posted on other social media it has received many hundreds of comments.  So it is now here on my blog for you all to enjoy, save and case as you wish.

This dramatic looking horse galloping away with the sentiment "Live as if someone left the gate open" is easy to achieve with the Stamparatus and it's unique hinge step technique and a simple mask.

Want to know how? then here is a step by step video tutorial so please have a go, join my channel, and create this easy yet dramatic card.

How to make an easy reinforced lidded box for Stampin Up Note Cards #simplestamping

#simple stamping is a current promotion from Stampin Up to encourage everyone to get involved in stamping and creating beautiful cards. If you've always wanted to try making hand made cards but have been put off by their complexity then #simple stamping is a great way to get started.

Start with a pack of NOTE CARDS in Whisper White or Very Vanilla. You get 20 cards and envelopes for just £6.  Use some inks and a stamp set of your choice and get creating. If you follow the #simplestamping there are lots of ideas from around the world to give you inspiration.

So once you have made a selection of these note cards, it would be great to have a lovely reinforced lidded box for you to put them in and then send or give as a gift.

Boxes can appear to be quite complicated, but trust me they can also be very easy to make. I have tried to come up with a simple lidded box with instructions on how to make that anyone can achieve.

Materials needed
WHISPER WHITE THICK A4 CARDSTOCK 2 x sheets (one for the lid one for the base)
A scoring tool - SIMPLY SCORED SCOREBOARD or the STAMPIN TRIMMER which has a scoring blade.

Measurements
For the base  cut to 9 1/4" x 7 3/4"
On the 9 1/4 side score at 1"  2"  7 1/4" and 8 1/4"
On the 7 3/4" side score at 1"  2"  5 3/4" and 6 3/4"

For the lid cut to 9 1/2" x 8"
On the 9 1/2" side score at 1"  2"  7 1/2" and 8 1/2"
On the 8" side score at 1"  2"  6" and 7"

I have given a 1/4" difference for the lid to allow for decoration and to give a roomy fit which I prefer, but if you want a tighter fit you can always use 1/8" difference in measurements.

Decorate your box as you wish to coordinate with your Note Cards.  I use the RECTANGLE STITCHED FRAMELITS DIES as the largest die fits perfectly with a small border on top of the box.

To make things even easier I have made a step by step video tutorial to show you how to make this box.  The video is shot close up so you can see exactly where to score and cut, however inadvertently there is a small section which is just out of shot, which I  apologise for and hope will not detract from your enjoyment.

So if you have always been apprehensive about trying to make a box, then I do hope you will give this a try and you don't have to put note cards in it, as it is also perfect for a small gift.

Stampin Up Tea Together - Mrs Potts & Chip inspired card from Beauty & The Beast

Making childrens cards can be so much fun and anything to do with Disney and dressing up and singing along to the music is just a delight.

By using TEA TOGETHER I was inspired to try and create a Mrs Potts and Chip from Beauty & The Beast.

Although I am no artist it was quite easy to draw a simple happy face and with our blends to colour the characters.

Here is a step by step video tutorial to show you exactly how I created this fun card.

Stampin Up Let It Ride - Magical Unicorn card

Who doesn't love unicorns? Well I have a little granddaughter who is absolutely obsessed with unicorns and any to do with unicorns and I love making her unicorn cards.

LET IT RIDE STAMP SET is a horse lovers set with beautiful line drawings of horses with some fun sentiments.  However you can turn the horses into unicorns by adding a horn.

Unicorns are lovely pastel ice cream colours, so I chose Pool Party, Powder Pink and some Highland Heather.

The background was stamped with SHELTERING TREE and the ground stamp and the little spots and the Magical Birthday came from MAGICAL MERMAID.

As I am always saying, use your stamp sets and get the most out of each set by putting elements from them together to create something totally different.

I have done a step by step video tutorial to show you how to make this card.  So pop over and have a look and give it a try for yourself. By following the steps you can make the unicorn horn whatever size you would like, I tried to keep it in proportion to the horse so made it twice as long as his ears, but if you like larger unicorn horns then that is easy to.

Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge - #JOSTTT002

Welcome to the second of the Tic Tac Toe Challenge for February 2019.  I am delighted to be one of the Design Team and as such get to, along with the other Design Team members, some inspiration.

This month I chose the top line Glimmer, Red and Heart.

I wanted to create something that was simple in design and the sentiment I chose was "You are simply the best"

I used the new RECTANGLE STITCHED FRAMELITS DIESto give some pretty layers to work with and then just added a tiny white heart.

The new rectangle stitched framelits are so versatile and I love making frames with them too,  here is a video tutorial to show you these amazing dies and some tips for getting the best results.
