Colourful Seasons New Stamp Set Stampin Up

Colourful Seasons Bundle Stampin Up

The Colourful Seasons bundle is available from the 1st June and is a set which has so much in it for all seasons.

This card is using two elements from the coordinating framelits cut in basic black cardstock. These are the flowers and the leaf.

lemon/Lime Twist is used with a Stampin Up block to give and ombré effect. Ink the block and stamp directly onto the cardstock three times without reinking to achieve this effect.

The sentiment is from the Colourful Seasons bundle too.

For a copy of the new Annual Catalogue please get in contact and I will happily post one out

How to create a bikini lady using Beautiful You stamp set from Stampin Up

Very excited today as was playing around trying to create different beach scenes as the weather is so hot and sunny and I came up with an idea of how to turn the Beautiful You lady into a bikini clad beach babe. Wearing a hat in the sea and putting lots of sunscreen on has become the norm these days so she certainly looks very at home in this scene.

Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Tranquil Tide ink pads
Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry Stampin Write Markers

Mixed Media Basics

I thought I would do a video with some of my tips in starting out with mixed media. This is sometimes a bit of a daunting task when you begin & I am still in the trial and error stage but love creating a piece of wall art on canvas.

Canvas - you can spend a fortune on good canvas but for beginning and practising, inexpensive canvas board is great and comes in lots of sizes. I start small as less daunting.

Glue - PVA glue if you go to the DIY store they sell gallon containers of PVA for a few pounds saving you loads compared to the small tubs of modge podge or craft PVA and is the same stuff.

Tissue paper - my favourite tip. Stamp and colour this to go straight on the canvas as stamping directly onto canvas never gives a crisp image.

Dies used - Dragonfly Dreams Thinlets Dies, Butterflies Thinlets dies, and Sunshine Wishes.

Colours used - Sweet Sugarplum, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral.

Watch the video and subscribe to my channel for inspiration and then just have a go.

This is the finished project. I wrapped the edges of the tissue paper round the canvas before adding the dsp and when the whole project was finished I sponged round the edge of the whole canvas in green to blend everything together and just finish it off.

Loved doing this so hope you will have a go too and all the Dies are available through the shop button above.

In Colours Background

Have been playing around with the new In Colours Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Lemon/Lime Twist. These colours are available in the new annual catalogue which launches on 1st June (let me know if you'd like a copy and I will post one out to you.

When I get hold of new colours I like to have a good play and so I created a background with the Lemon/Lime Twist in the centre, Tranquil Tide in the middle and the Fresh Figbround the edges. I love the vibrancy of the Lemon/Lime Twist which gives an almost luminescent moonshine effect.
With the Jar of Love foliage stamp and a sentiment in black it made a lovely card mounted on black cardstock. So this was just a play with the new In Colours but I think they blend together beautifully and certainly get my vote.

To get your hands on these lovely new colours get in touch and will let you know how to get hold of them in a brand new suite you can buy now.

Bank Holiday Weekend Fun

There is nothing like enjoying a weekend outside camping in the fresh air and the weather this weekend has been fresh but dry.  I am very lucky to enjoy the company of a good friend and my lovely dog Luna so went to a vw show at Stanford Hall and walked to a great pub called the Chequers for some home cooked vegetarian food.

Our camping trips are always more enjoyable as we have a 1959 split screen vw camper van called Rusty. Rusty turns heads wherever it goes as drivers  hang out of the window on the roads taking photos. It is one great big smile vehicle, takes us everywhere and on many adventures.
So having had a few days off from my crafting I will be spending the afternoon creating and crafting more fun ideas to share with you all soon.

Hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.
