Breast Cancer Awareness month - helping raise funds for BRAS Frimley Park Hospital

 BRAS - breast research and support is a charity at my local hospital and one of our lovely local boutiques in Farnham Angel Boutique were raising funds by having a Pink Friday event as one of their staff had just been diagnosed and was starting treatment. As I know many friends who are breast cancer survivors I wanted to get involved and help as much as I could.

So I made them a sign, recycled and painted in black acrylic picture frame and the retired Ribbon of Hope bundle from Stampin’ Up! For the pink ribbons.

The black stars were from the current Starlit punch.

I then made some bookmarks and a box of cards, all in pink, for their tombola prizes. The joys of being a crafter is it is always quick and simple to make some prizes

Finally everyone was encouraged to decorate a bra and wear it (over a t shirt of course as it is nearly winter here)  and I had fun with a hot glue gun and some wooden beads.

The response from the local community was fantastic and over £1,000 was raised on the day. It is lovely to be part of a local community that looks at giving back, and I was proud to say that I was part of it.

Make your own Christmas cards using the Starlit punch

 Christmas Day is just 12 weeks away, so if you are making your own cards it is time to make a start. Punches are a great way to quickly make embellishments to adorn, cards and gifts.

Peaceful Deer Stampin’ Up! - make your own patterned paper for Christmas

 Hand made cards especially at Christmas time and lovely to make and great to receive. Peaceful Deer and the Deer Builder Punch can make lots of different styles of card as there are trees and a variety of deer, a winter rabbit/hare and lots of lovely words. Clean & simple card making using one colour & Stars Are Shining Bundle from Stampin’ Up!

 Clean & simple cards can be quite tricky as leaving a lot of white space on a card can be quite daunting, As a crafter we all want to fill every inch of our cards with layers and papers and ribbons, but a clean & simple card with a grouping in the middle surrounded by white space can look quite stunning

I used just one colour Gorgeous Grape with a little bit of glitter paper & a couple of rhinestones & grouped everything in the middle of the card. Buy the products in my SHOP

Feels Like Home Saleabration stamp set - clean & simple silhouette card

Techniques using Peaceful Deer and Welcoming Woods

 Ever wondered how to put a deer behind some trees without and join lines. Well use a mask. Stamp the trees and then cut them out and put them over the stamped image then stamp and colour in the deer.

I used the Colour and Contour dies to cut the image out and then mounted on a piece of Sweet stockings dsp.

Use your stash to make a large tag - summertime theme

 I am part of Facebook group called The Joy of Sets which is a page full of ideas using stamp sets. They run regular swap challenges and this one was to make a large tag 6” x 3” with the theme Summer.

I decided to do an eclectic mix of sunflowers, sunshine and children playing.

The stamp sets I used were

I’ve made a video of the process and how I put it all together. You can also see how I struggle with the ribbon charm for far too long, but get there eventually. Real time crafting warts and all.

Strong of Heart stamp set - one ink pad and a bit of creativity

 Strong of Heart is a new stamp set in the mini catalogue and for every set sold Stampin’ Up! Will donate £2.50 to a heart health charity. This set is close to the heart of Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglas whose husband suffered a heart attack several years ago. I always try and support charities so this stamp set was one I had to have.

These cards were made using just one ink pad and a stamp off technique to give the different shading.

Hate Colouring Detailed Stamps Then Try This Simple Technique Using New Feels Like Home Saleabration Stamp Set

 Detailed stamps are quite often overlooked as the thought of hours of colouring in the image puts people off. However there is a simpler way which gives a beautiful look.

Using Blending Brushes and a few ink pads create a blended background then stamp the image in a coordinating ink pad

The colours I used were

Top Image - Cinnamon Cider, So Saffron & Sahara Sand

Middle - Smoky Slate, Pool Party, and So Saffron 

Bottom - Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Fresia and Highland Heather.

Penguin Builder Punch - vases, pots & flowers punch art

 I love the versatility of punches and the new Penguin Builder Punch available 3rd August in the new Mini catalogue is one of those.

Blending technique using Blending Brushes then stamped with new Welcoming Woods stamp set

 I do enjoy blending a background and this one has quite a soft rainbow feel.

Creating cards using subtle colours instead of black

 Morning everyone. How often do we use black ink to stamp with? Yes I’m guilty, I always stamp sentiments in black and images and then use other inks to colour or two step stamp.

Well when using subtle colours like Blushing Bride which is a soft pink then use a softer colour like Smoky Slate

 Decorative Masks are great stencils which you can use with sponge dauber and ink pads of as many colours as you wish. The mask is 6” x 6” and I used a sheet of Basic White cardstock and then cut it down into 3” x2’ pieces allowing  me to make 6 cards.

 Hello everyone and welcome to today’s blog. In this difficult times here in the UK we are all spending more time at home and told to only go out for exercise and essential shopping. So with more time at home it is important to keep your mind and body busy. So what do I do? Well I craft and share my passion with others.

 It’s been a while since I posted on my blog as I’ve been concentrating on my YouTube channel. With a new year and my 5th anniversary as a Stampin’ Up ! Demonstrator, I thought it was about time I started blogging again.
