So the stamp set I decided to use was a FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set (spend £45 from my Stampin Up shop and get this set free until 31st March 2019) So Hoppy Together
For a blog hop you just have to have a hoppy frog...…..hop! hop! hop! excuse the pun!
How do you make an easel card? Well if you take a standard card base and make a matt layer exactly the same size as the card base, then score and fold one flap of the card base to give you a flap and then put your matt on this flap.
You can see more easily from this angle of the photo.
I used Mint Macaron and Merry Merlot for the cardstock.
Two die cuts from the Ribbon of Courage framelits (Hope was chopped to make Hop and the butterfly had a cut Butterfly Gala butterfly coloured and fussy cut to fit the framelit.
The frogs were coloured using the Aquapainter and some Mint Macaron ink. The strip of Merry Merlot was stamped with the butterfly from So Hoppy Together.
The sentiments Hey you can do anything, were also from the So Hoppy Together stamp set.
Now some of you may have noticed that the two frogs standing are facing different directions. This is a technique called reverse stamping and can be easily achieved with the Silicone Craft Sheet which is just £5.50 as can be used for many great techniques like, reverse image stamping, embossing dies, extra shim in the Stamparatus, glue mat, and so much more.
Here is a step by step video showing how to do the reverse image technique

ReplyDeleteThanks Fiona, Thought a frog for a hop was most appropriate lol x
DeleteI love this, I've never seen an easel card made this way and sometimes feel restricted by the narrowness so thank you for taking off my blinkers and making me realise they don't have to be narrow. I love the way it turned out with the technique you used. So cute, the frogs are proving to be the 2018 pandas of 2019.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea, lol think outside the box a bit and this way of doing an easel card easy to teach and fits well in envelope without as you said restriction of width. Yep froggies are cute and appropriate for a hop x
DeleteYou are so clever with the "hope" to "hop" die! This is so stinkin' cute!
